There have been several courses on the use of the FRAM in the past, either as one-day stand-alone courses or as half-day introductions at conferences.
FRAM courses for health care
Since 2013 there have been regular courses aimed at health care and organised by the Center for Quality in the Region of Southern Denmark. These courses take two days, with a 1-2 week period in between to work on a self-selected case. The first day is the general introduciton to the FRAM and instruction in the method, while the second day is used to go through the case studies. The courses will continue in 2014. (The courses are – unfortunately – in Danish.) A special Handbook in the use of the FRAM has also been developed. The first version was in Danish, but a translation to English is on the way.
In 2014, FRAM courses will also start in Sweden, sponsored by Jönköping Läns Landsting. The courses are aimed at health care, and will use a three-day format.
Other courses
At present there are no other regular courses in the FRAM. On request, bespoke courses can be developed. Based on the experiences so far, the recommendation is to have a course over two days, with 1-2 weeks in between for case work. The number of participants should not exceed 24.
Professor Hollnagel has been giving 1 day courses to accompany / precede the FRAMily meetings.
He has also presented a variety of tailored (1,2,3 Days) courses to various industry groupings, in many different countries.
A 1 day course was run this year in the UK (Bristol) by Dr. Alistair Ross and colleagues , again aimed at health care professionals.
FRAMsynt is tasked with responding to requests for lectures, trainers, facilitators for tailored courses, seminars, workshops using the experienced personnel from the FRAMily members.
